Blogging experience
I think that making your own blog has become a lot easier over the years- with free online sites like Blogger, you are given a choice of templates and can start right away. i think what puts some people off anything to do with webpages is the fact that they think it must be much harder than it is- writing in html etc. I did a module at University which was all webdesign and Dreamweaver etc and I am glad that its a lot easier now

Cool! I am so out of touch I didnt realise it was not as easy before! It is all very straightforward isn't it, and you can even change your background if you dont like it!
Couldn't agree more - I taught myself to use Dreamweaver and just found it utterly baffling! (Frontpage is easier for the autodidact btw...)
But, I think you put your finger on a truth, too - even though it is easier, do you think there remains a perception that it is still not for the 'non-techies'?
